Sunbathing, Sweets, and Serenity
My husband got a new game and this fancy schmancy joystick so he could fly around in helicopters and play shootemup. He's actually pretty good at those shooting/flying games, and I'm sure he'd be thrilled if I enjoyed playing that genre, but truth is - I don't. Flying and shootemup games make me queasy. And that is the reason I stick to when explaining my inability to play them with any sort of talent.
In the past when I've tried them, I never seem to be shooting the right area, my target is WAY off, and watching me try to fly any sort of aircraft brings a good laugh to any onlookers.
Several years ago, my husband and I, along with some friends, went to Dave and Buster's. I thought I'd give a fancy schmancy machine gun game a whirl. It looked really neat and had these MASSIVE machine guns for you to hold on to. I was having a great time until some guy came up to me chuckling, "Uhhh, let me show you how to hold this...you're holding it backwards."
Like I knew! But my point is, it just doesn't come natural to me.
Put me in the driver's seat of a race car game, or in front of any pinball machine and I'm comfortable there.
My point in all this? Well, I decided since I am not into all that hoorah of flying and shooting, that I wanted my own treat to play with.
So we picked up an ice cream maker from Costco. Now, I realize something like that is really a treat for the whole family, but I've been dying to own one for a long time now, and in this heat - now was the perfect time. Plus, I'm the Mommy! It's my job to treat the family!
I made homemade french vanilla ice cream with mini chocolate chips. It is heavenly I can honestly say.
So, I just finished eating the ice cream cone shown above. I'm sure it's the last thing I should have been snacking on, but it was a perfect conclusion to my quiet lounge out on the grass in the sun while the munchkin is still nestled away in dreamland for naptime.

I've got a strange desire for ice cream and a nap...The new template looks good. Glad to see you're back online and making up for lost time...
