I Forgot To Mention

Yesterday at dance class, when my munchkin was wearing ballet shoes and she was supposed to be wearing the required tap shoes, I completely forgot to mention the most comical thing she did...

It was as if she knew she was supposed to be wearing different shoes and it took all my strength not to burst out laughing, because I'm pretty sure if the instructor noticed what I'm about to tell you... it undoubtedly irritated her to no end.

At the beginning of the class they march around in their tap shoes making lots of noise and they get to rummage through two bins that are full of tambourines and moroccas. As soon as my daughter tired of her prized purple moroccas, she sought out two of the smaller tambourines from the bins.

Instead of rattling them about, she laid them flat on the floor and slid her foot into each one and slid around as if they were musical slippers. If I had had my camera with me I would have taken a picture. It was so hillarious... but I kept my composure and quickly took them off her feet before she caused any more wrinkles in what's supposed to be a strict and regimented routine.

Tambourine feet... my sweet girl is out of her mind just like her mommy!

Did no one tell you, you are subject to a fate worse than death if found without your camera?

Being a man, I take my chances, and can always show my whimpy camera photo if questioned. (Futhermore, I usually don't admit to being sans my gear.) However, you as a woman, who I would assume carries a purse of one fashion or another, could easily make sure she always had at least a tiny one with her at all times. If nothing else, put one in the diaper bag for God Sakes!

LOL

I have missed more awesome shots than I care to admit. The thing is, if I actually took a camera with me where ever I went, I would show up for work about 11:15, instead of 8:30 like I am required. Sheesh, some bosses are just too demanding you know.

LOL Incurable Savant. You are brave for carrying around your 20D. I have lost many cell phones due to sippy cup spillages and various other accidents, so I haven't gotten that brave yet, so I usually have my smaller Canon G3 in tow for just in case a photo moment happens.

Anyway, I was wondering if maybe you can MAKE tap shoes? Like buy a good pair of shoes but buy those metal tappy thingies? For some reason I've heard of this happening. The silly thing is that tap shoes for older dances are so flexible and comfy. I don't know why they don't make them that way for little kids.
