My husband and I went to the movies this afternoon and saw House of Flying Daggers. It was really good, I thought! I especially loved the play of color in the movie.
It's weird how the brain gets used to reading the subtitles and after a few minutes into the movie you forget that you're listening to a different language and sitting there reading the dialogue.
I'm sick off popcorn....
But it sure was nice to go out for a date!

So the movie was good? I'd really like to see that at some point. Not sure how much I'd enjoy it in the theater.
I had my fill of movie popcorn when I went to see Constantine. It was good, but I let them talk me in to a large. It was enough for seven people I think.
Call me a weirdo, but I watch a lot of movies with the subtitles on. I hate missing dialogue! If the actors have an accent, I usually have to have the subtitles on. In fact, the other day when I watched Moulin Rouge, I got through half of the movie and had to pause it to turn on the subtitles because I kept missing bits and pieces of what people were saying - not so much because of the accents (which were minimal) but the music kept drowning out the voices... ugh the pains of watching a movie on the pc.
I'll have to catch House of Flying Daggers when it's on DVD. That'll probably be in a year or two when I get around to buying it.
