It's amazing how time flies when you're up to your eyeballs in baby stuff. All my days are mushing together - nights are days and days are nights - and the nonstop rain outside isn't helping me figure my ups from downs.
Christmas was wonderful and as usual, I was spoiled terribly.
One of my gifts was a trip to this magnificent day spa where I was treated like a princess. The spa was beautiful and when I walked through the doors to start my 'special treatment' I honestly felt like I had entered another plane on this planet - right down to the little gold wrapped chocolates left for me everywhere I went. I had a pedicure (deep red nail polish, of course!), a hot body wrap (I was a little claustiphobic with this, but it sure felt magnificent once I calmed my brain down.), and then an out of this world deep tissue body massage. The owner of the spa was the woman who gave me the massage. It was fascinating to talk to her about how she ended up owning such a spectacular spa and to find out that she did all the decorating herself. I also think it's neat that despite the popularity of this spa, she still works with her clients - and she's young! Made me realize that people's dreams can come true - and well before retirement age too.
While I was at the spa, I don't know if it was my after-baby body amidst all the beauty that surrounded me, or if it was the approaching new year and the over used resolution of starting a diet that got to me, but I decided that I am not thrilled with how I'm looking and I want to do something about it.
I know it's only been three weeks approximately after having baby #2, but I'm gearing up mentally for a good and healthy change. So I'm declaring Mondays to be my public share of my weight (eeks!) and we'll see what kind of progress I can make. I am not going to cut out all the junk I eat, but I am going to try to make better choices on a whole with little splurge moments every now and again.
And I'm dragging my husband down this road with me. I hope we can stick to it.

The spa visit sounds wonderful, It's great you go that time:)
I won't be joining you on sharing my weight online!!
lol... I won't be joining you, either...
But I do want to eat healthier & get myself in a better place with my body.
The spa sounds like something I could use... I'm glad you had such a wonderful experience.

Welcome back! First off, the baby AND toddler are absolutely beautiful!
If I knew you a little better I would totally call you a b-i-t-c-h for weighing 143 three weeks after delivery! I would love to join you in the weight thing b/c I think it would be a fab idea to have the internet hold you accountable for your weight BUT I'm not due until April so my weight will only be going up, up, up! AND I crave sweets like CRAZY when I'm preggo! Maybe by May I'll be ready to join you (although by then, you'll probably be done).
Last thing, I'm totally jealous of your spa visit!
I love your little one's pictures, btw. She's a doll!

Yay! It's good to drag the hubbies down paths like these!!! I think Mike sneaks the bad stuff when he's away though..hmm. Maybe I should try a shock collar. WHAHAA!!!
Happy New Year!
(I'm catching up from the trip...)

Well they do say that while nursing, your body uses more calories (up to 500) than when you're pregnant. Er at least that's my excuse for that extra scoop of ice cream. :P
