I love watching the Food Network, but every now and again I see a little something that's disturbing...
Giada De Laurentiis is always fun to watch on Everyday Italian (even though she scares my husband)...but the other day I was watching an episode of it and ...
And she tossed the salad with the dressing using her hands.
Her.hands.
I've never before seen this done and it just looked rather nasty to me...who wants to eat a salad after it's been manhandled?
But on an up note, Food Network's new show "Ham on the Street" was great!
I've only been able to catch one episode, but the host went around the city asking people to try a hotdog from his pot a various weiners...and they had to guess what kind of meat it was. If they were right, they got to just be right and enjoy the hotdog. If they were wrong though...they had to drink a shot of the hot dog water from the pot!
Eww. Lots of people were wrong...

Oh I've seen chefs do that a number of times (like Sara from Sara's Secrets). I remember this only because this drives my husband's grandmother up the wall, especially since she says they never show that anyone has washed their hands.
I've seen Alton mix salads like this, but he's always adamant about washing his hands. Doesn't bother me too much.
I meant to watch "Ham", but got distracted.
I love Everyday Italian!!! She has kind of a big noggin in comparison to the rest of her body..is that why she scares your husband???

And EEW about that hot dog thing! I mean, hot dogs are great but to drink the water it was made in??? BLECH!!!!

I'm just not too keen about eating a salad after someone mixed it up with their hands. Call me crazy!
And that hotdog thing? I really really really try NOT to think WHAT kind of meat hotdogs are made out of (lol, but it doesn't stop me from eating them). I'd rather not try to guess!

I love hot dogs esp when pregnant but the water makes me gag!! My hubby calls it hot dog soup and the thought of actually tasting that stuff makes me sick. (like a hot dog is any better, I know)
My hubby LOVES Giada! Thinks she is the end all be all of women. She's Italian and can cook and really, that's enough to make the man happy! (Too bad I'm not Italian and can't cook to save my life...HA! I'm still trying to figure out why he loves me so)
Pat likes Giada too (and he loves here recipes). It seems like it would feel gross to mix the dressing in your hands, but other than that. I mix a lot of things with my hands in the kitchen, but then again I wash my hands a lot too.
Oh, and the new template is cool. That picture of you in really neat.
Just last week I saw on TV a lady using her veneered long nails for full effect. She just pushed up her bracelets and bangles (at least seven on each wrist) and dipped those nails in the runny frosting and let it drip down off her nails and all over the desert to give it that runny creative look. Yuk.
