Crazy Calories

Ok, so I'm really trying to be .::focused::. with the eating healthy and I'm trying to help the husband and myself look better by counting the calories in my dinner preparation...

I always knew avacados were high in fat content and calories, but gosh I didn't really fathom exactly how much until I looked it up today...

One avacado has the same amount of fat as a Big Mac!

Doesn't that just baffle your brain? It does mine.

Hawaiian avocados have much less fat than California ones. Of course they don't taste as good. I guess that's how IT works.

Avocados are good for you, Big Macs aren't (like what chocoholic said). Although, would you really eat a whole entire avocado? I'm assuming that since you eat them with other things, it's really more of a garnish rather than a meal.

I do know the differences between avacados and Bic Macs...30 grams of fat is still a shocking amount though...good or bad.

And sadly, yes, I have been known to eat an entire avacado...

Ugh.

I don't tend to focus so much on the fat content of food just because I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't cut out food groups when trying to lose weight or attempting to lead a healthier lifestyle. But weightloss is different for everyone, of course, depending on lots of factors. But I do think that when people say avocados are good for you, they don't take into account that someone would actually eat the whole thing as though it's an apple. heh. You know what though -- my parents buy avocados by the bag at Costco and eat them all the time. They don't have high cholesterol and they're not overweight. They don't divulge in McD's too often though.
